Training &
Player Development

Individual and small-group coaching for players who want to get measurably better — whether that's making a school team, preparing for tryouts, or fixing the one thing that's been holding them back.

What We Work On

Every session targets something specific. No filler drills, no standing in line.

Shooting Mechanics

Clean, repeatable form that holds up when the game speeds up — the first thing evaluators notice.

Ball-Handling & Footwork

Tight handles and quick feet that survive real defensive pressure, not just cone drills.

Basketball IQ

Reading the floor and making the right decision. The part that separates players at every level.

Confidence Under Pressure

Live reps and mock evaluations, so tryout day isn't the first time it's felt like that.

Training Questions

The things parents ask before booking.

What ages do you coach?+

Ages 8 to 18 — from a kid picking up the game to a high schooler chasing a roster spot. Sessions run one-on-one or in small pods of 2–4 players.

How much does training cost?+

Private sessions are $99, or $379 for a four-session package. Small-group pods are $65 per player for two players, $55 for three, and $50 for four, per session. The four-week pod program is $199 per player, and tryout prep is $199 per player.

Where does training happen?+

Centrally in Chatham-Kent — an easy drive from Chatham, Wallaceburg, Blenheim, Tilbury, Ridgetown and Dresden. Exact venue details are confirmed when we schedule your first session.

Can training actually help my kid make a team?+

That's exactly what tryout prep is built for: shooting mechanics, ball-handling, footwork and basketball IQ, plus mock-evaluation reps so tryout day isn't the first time it counts. We can't promise a roster spot — nobody honestly can — but we can make sure your kid walks in prepared.

What's the difference between training and the after-school program?+

Training is targeted development on your schedule — a specific player working on specific gaps. The after-school program is a full weekday routine with homework, mentorship and daily coaching. Plenty of families do both.

Are you starting a rep league or an Ontario Basketball club?+

No. Chatham Kings is not registering a club program with Ontario Basketball, and we're not here to replace the organisations already running rep and travel basketball in Chatham-Kent. Our training helps kids make the teams that already exist.

Looking for a House League or Travel Team?

Training is individual and small-group development — it isn’t a league or a rep team.

We're not registering a club program with Ontario Basketball, and we're not here to replace the organisations already running rep and travel basketball in Chatham-Kent. Our programs help kids develop — and make the teams that already exist.
